The customer’s coffee products included two different filling ranges:

Because 3-in-1 coffee contains coffee powder, sugar, and creamer, the filling system must handle different bulk densities and powder flow characteristics. For this reason, we configured a short auger dosing system with stirring, which is more suitable for coffee powder and mixed powder products.

Coffee Powder Dosing Design

For this Saudi Arabia coffee project, the selected dosing system is a short auger with stirring device.

This design is suitable because coffee powder may have several production challenges:

Different Flowability Between 3-in-1 Coffee and Pure Coffee Powder

3-in-1 coffee contains multiple ingredients. Sugar, creamer, and coffee powder have different particle sizes and densities. If the feeding system is not stable, the filling weight may fluctuate.

Pure coffee powder usually has a smaller filling weight of 8–9 g, so dosing accuracy is also important.

Powder Bridging and Poor Feeding

Coffee powder and creamer-based powder may bridge inside the hopper. The stirring structure helps keep powder moving toward the auger screw, reducing empty filling and unstable dosing.

Dust Control During Multi-Lane Filling

An 8-lane machine fills multiple stick packs at the same time. If dust is not controlled, powder may enter the sealing area and affect sealing quality. For this reason, the project includes a dust removal device.

Output Capacity

The production order requires a speed of:

200–240 packs per minute

For an 8-lane machine, the average single-lane speed is:

25–30 packs per minute per lane

This output is suitable for medium and large coffee factories that need stable daily production. Compared with simply pursuing higher speed, this configuration gives better balance between speed, filling stability, sealing quality, and machine cost.

Bag Size and Packaging Format

The customer’s required stick pack size is:

35 mm width × 175 mm length

This slim stick pack format is widely used for instant coffee because it is convenient for:

• Single-cup coffee serving

• Retail box packing

• Hotel and office coffee supply

• Travel-size coffee packs

• Supermarket and convenience store sales

The machine uses back sealing and serrated cutting, without easy tear notch. This design keeps the stick pack simple, clean, and cost-effective.

Safety and Auxiliary Devices

The guard door interlock improves operator safety. When the safety door is opened, the machine can stop automatically.

The static elimination device helps improve film running stability, especially when using composite film in dry workshop environments.

The dust removal system is especially important for coffee powder because it helps reduce powder floating and improves the cleanliness of the sealing area.
