APPLICATIONS

Samfull recently completed a stick pack packaging machine project for a customer from Colombia. The customer needed a reliable solution for packing protein powder, nutritional powder, and fine powder mixed with small granules into slim back-seal stick packs.

After comparing machine configuration, powder filling stability, film compatibility, after-sales communication, and overall cost performance, the customer finally chose Samfull’s SF-3.0S Series Stick Pack Packaging Machine.

This project was designed for small-dose powder packaging, with a filling volume of 10ml–20ml and a target speed of 30–35 cuts per minute.

DESCRIPTION

Customer Background

The Colombian customer was looking for a practical packaging solution for powder products used in the food, nutrition, and supplement market. Their products included protein powder and other fine powder formulations, which required accurate dosing, clean sealing, and good bag appearance.

For powder stick pack projects, the biggest challenges are usually:

  • Powder dust during filling

  • Powder sticking to the sealing area

  • Unstable filling for fine powder

  • Film static electricity

  • Poor easy-tear performance

  • Seal leakage caused by powder contamination

  • Inconsistent bag cutting and appearance

Because of these concerns, the customer needed more than a standard stick pack machine. They needed a machine configured specifically for powder packaging.

The short auger design helps improve filling stability while reducing product residue and material waste during production.


3. Dust Collection System for Cleaner Sealing

Protein powder and fine powder can easily create dust during filling. If the powder enters the sealing area, it may cause poor sealing, leakage, or dirty bag appearance.

To solve this problem, the machine was equipped with an industrial dust collector.

This configuration helps:

  • Reduce floating powder

  • Keep the sealing area cleaner

  • Improve sealing quality

  • Reduce machine cleaning frequency

  • Improve the production environment

  • Make the finished stick packs more stable and professional

When using composite film or aluminum film, static electricity may cause powder to stick to the film surface or sealing area. This can affect bag forming, sealing quality, and final appearance.

The anti-static system helps reduce static interference and improves the stability of the packaging process.


5. Aluminum Film Compatibility for Better Product Protection

The machine was designed to run composite film and aluminum film, with a film thickness of 9–10 silk.

For protein powder and nutritional powder, aluminum film is commonly used because it provides better protection against moisture, oxygen, and light. This helps reduce caking, odor transfer, and product quality loss during storage and transportation.

This makes the solution suitable for commercial powder packaging, especially for products sold in retail channels or sample packs.

Finished Bag Specification

  • Easy-tear opening

  • Clean cutting edge

  • Slim stick pack appearance

This type of bag is suitable for single-use powder products, sample distribution, daily nutrition packs, and portable supplement packaging.
