APPLICATIONS
Samfull recently completed a stick pack packaging machine project for a customer from Colombia. The customer needed a reliable solution for packing protein powder, nutritional powder, and fine powder mixed with small granules into slim back-seal stick packs.
After comparing machine configuration, powder filling stability, film compatibility, after-sales communication, and overall cost performance, the customer finally chose Samfull’s SF-3.0S Series Stick Pack Packaging Machine.
This project was designed for small-dose powder packaging, with a filling volume of 10ml–20ml and a target speed of 30–35 cuts per minute.

DESCRIPTION
The Colombian customer was looking for a practical packaging solution for powder products used in the food, nutrition, and supplement market. Their products included protein powder and other fine powder formulations, which required accurate dosing, clean sealing, and good bag appearance.
For powder stick pack projects, the biggest challenges are usually:
Powder dust during filling
Powder sticking to the sealing area

The customer’s product was not a simple free-flowing granule. It included protein powder and fine powder mixed with small particles, which requires experience in auger dosing, dust control, sealing design, and anti-static treatment.

For this project, Samfull used a short auger dosing system.
Compared with ordinary cup dosing, auger dosing is more suitable for powder products because it can provide better control for fine powder and mixed powder materials. This is especially important for small-volume stick packs in the 10ml–20ml range.
The short auger design helps improve filling stability while reducing product residue and material waste during production.
Protein powder and fine powder can easily create dust during filling. If the powder enters the sealing area, it may cause poor sealing, leakage, or dirty bag appearance.
To solve this problem, the machine was equipped with an industrial dust collector.
This configuration helps:

For powder packaging projects, this is an important configuration rather than an optional decoration.
The customer’s production order also required an anti-static device.
When using composite film or aluminum film, static electricity may cause powder to stick to the film surface or sealing area. This can affect bag forming, sealing quality, and final appearance.
The anti-static system helps reduce static interference and improves the stability of the packaging process.
The machine was designed to run composite film and aluminum film, with a film thickness of 9–10 silk.
For protein powder and nutritional powder, aluminum film is commonly used because it provides better protection against moisture, oxygen, and light. This helps reduce caking, odor transfer, and product quality loss during storage and transportation.
This makes the solution suitable for commercial powder packaging, especially for products sold in retail channels or sample packs.
