3. Why Short Auger Dosing Is Suitable for Instant Coffee Powder

Instant coffee powder is different from free-flowing granules such as sugar or salt. It can be light, fine, dusty, and affected by humidity or static electricity. If the dosing method is not suitable, problems may appear during production, such as unstable weight, powder sticking, dust around the sealing area, or poor package appearance.

For this reason, this project uses short auger dosing.

Short auger dosing is suitable for:

The customer selected a 10-lane back-seal stick pack machine. Compared with a 4-lane or 6-lane model, a 10-lane machine provides higher output and is more suitable for customers who already have stable coffee product demand.

Main machine advantages:

10-lane high-output structure

The machine forms, fills, seals, and cuts 10 stick packs at the same time. This is suitable for continuous production of single-serving coffee sticks.

Siemens control system

The production order specifies a Siemens system, which improves control stability and is convenient for long-term industrial production.

304 stainless steel structure

The machine frame is made of 304 stainless steel, suitable for food powder packaging environments.

Multi-language operation

The HMI language includes Spanish, English, and Chinese, which is especially practical for an El Salvador customer and local production operators.

Export power standard

The machine is designed according to the customer’s factory power supply: 220V, 3 phase, 60Hz.

5. Production Capacity Calculation

The production order shows a speed requirement of 30–40 cuts/min.

For a 10-lane machine, the theoretical output is:

• 10 lanes × 30 cuts/min = approx. 300 packs/min

• 10 lanes × 40 cuts/min = approx. 400 packs/min

According to the remarks, the machine should try to reach around 35 cuts/min per lane during actual production.

So the practical reference output is:

10 lanes × 35 cuts/min = approx. 350 stick packs/min
